I remember playing this game along time ago and lovin it's RTS goodness.
Did some googling the other day and found out that it had been released by Eidos to a GPL and that there is an active redevelopment (by people who love it) project well under way!

Anyway the game is completely free no adware or begging for money (they are needing mac, linux and windows coders, especially networking).

You will the need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) to run the game but it is a very small file and i have the link for it here:
